Men's Basketball Team Picks Up Win at Tourney

The men's basketball team traveled to Scranton, PA for the annual Penn State Scranton Tip-Off Tournament.
 
In the first game of the tournament, the team faced HVIAC rival Davis College. The Mighty Oaks had won the last four straight matches against the Falcons going back to 2015. Davis College had a slight edge over ESF this match winning by one point, 63-62.
 
Junior Justin VanDuLuitgaarden led ESF with 13 points and seven rebounds. Senior center Tyler Kuhn added 11 points along with nine rebounds. Freshman Henry Pflaumer chipped in seven points off the bench.   
 
The following day ESF matched up against the hosts Penn State Worthington Scranton. ESF came away with a hard fought 75-72 overtime win over the Nittany Lions. Kuhn had another strong game with 21 points and 11 rebounds. Sophomore James Squier had a career-high 13 points. 
 
Later in the week, ESF fell to the Wildcats of Cazenovia 79-45. The Mighty Oaks offense sputtered against the Wildcats shooting 21% from the field. Junior guard David Loewen led ESF with 11 points. 
 
The Mighty Oaks are on the road in Buffalo Dec. 2 against Villa Maria College.
