Mighty Oaks Welcome New Men's Basketball Coach

John D'Antonio was named the second head coach in the history of ESF's men's basketball program.

For the last five years, D'Antonio coached varsity basketball at Groton High School. While at Groton, he helped build the program making it as high as number nine in Class C state rankings in during the 2016-17 season.

During the summers he volunteers at several local collegiate and high school basketball camps and attends a variety of coaching clinics.

D'Antonio received his bachelors in elementary education and masters in environmental education, both from SUNY Cortland. He was a part of the Cortland men's basketball program from 1995-97 where they were the first team in school's history to reach the Division III NCAA tournament.

"I am unbelievably excited for this opportunity to coach basketball for ESF," said D'Antonio. "Basketball is a passion of mine and coaching at the college level has been a dream. It's great to be a Mighty Oak!"

"We are very excited to have John join the athletics staff," said Director of Athletics Dan Ramin. "His passion for the sport, the environment and student-athlete success make him a great fit for our program. John's experience with education and community service projects will be a great asset to our campus community."
