The men's soccer team dropped both games in the weekend doubleheader. ESF lost to Alfred State, 2-0. In a game that featured a weather delay and rough field conditions, the Mighty Oaks outshot the Pioneers 7-3 but were unable to find the back of the net.
The following day, the Mighty Oaks fell in a shootout vs SUNY Delhi. The Broncos got on the board one minute into the match. They added to the lead with two additional goals. ESF scored on a PK at the 41st minute to go into half time down 3-1. Another ESF goal at the 53rd minute brought the Mighty Oaks within one goal, 3-2. The Broncos would answer with a goal at the 55th-minute, pushing the lead to 4-2. ESF scored at the 86th-minute but it was not enough. The Broncos won 4-3. Scoring for ESF were graduate student Geoff Golick, sophomore Liam Byrne and freshman Own Henckler.
The men's team falls to 4-5 overall. The team faces Bryant and Stratton in Syracuse Oct. 9.
