Women's Soccer Defeat The King's College in HVIAC Opener

The women's soccer team topped The King's College, 3-0, in its first HVIAC conference game of the season. After a scoreless first half, ESF notched three goals in the second half. Junior Marissa Pompeii scored first at the 47th minute. Next came a blast from outside the box by Rachael Foote, scoring her first collegiate goal, at the 63rd-minute. Senior Rachel Truska scored for ESF at the 80th-minute and ESF went on to win 3-0.

Earlier in the week, the women's squad fell to Cazenovia College, 5-1. Wildcat senior forward Michaela Breeze scored a hat-trick against ESF. With the win at King's, the Mighty Oaks improve to 2-1 overall. Their next match is Sept. 21 vs a conference rival, Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.
