Mighty Oaks Participate at Brockport Invitational

The Mighty Oaks indoor track season kicked off at the Brockport Invitational.

The Mighty Oaks were led by senior Shannon Gordinier's third place finish (8.04) in the women's 60-meter dash. Gordinier finished in the top three out of 39 runners. Senior Laura Wengert finished eighth out of 21 runners with a time of 11:38 in the women's 3,000-meter run.

For the men, senior Nick Giordano and freshmen Howard "Buck" Haines both scored in the men's 400-meter dash. Haines finished sixth overall with a time of 53.60 while Giordano placed eighth overall with a time of 54.08.

"For many, this was their first indoor meet of the season against some good competition. We had some great performances and others know what they need to work on during practice to improve. We need to continue to work hard these next two weeks to prepare for the Cornell Sunday Invite on February 11th." said Head Coach Mike Melfi.
