Marissa Lathrop Sets a New School Record in the Mile
The Mighty Oaks men's and women's track teams were in action Feb. 11 at the Cornell Sunday Invite.
Junior Marissa Lathrop broke a five year old school record in the mile with a time of 5:30 placing her sixth overall out of 27 runners. Senior Shannon Gordinier finished sixth overall in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.97.
On the men's side, freshman Ethan Ballard was able to break the school record in the long jump, 6.18 meters. Freshman Howard Haines finished sixth (53.01) out of 35 runners in the 400 meter dash.
The team has the month of March off and will begins its outdoor season April 7 at the Hamilton College Invite.
