Mighty Oaks Compete at the 37th Annual Mike Woods Invitational

The women's cross-country team ran Sept. 30 at the 37th Annual Mike Woods Invitational at SUNY Geneseo.

The Mike Woods Invitational is one of the most competitive races the team will compete in this season. It featured more than 200 runners from 18 schools in both the men's and women's races.

In the women's race, junior Marissa Lathrop was the top finisher for ESF, placing 40th overall with a time of 23:42. Freshman Erin Cocca finished 56th overall (24:00). Cocca finished in the top 20 among freshman runners. Cocca's time was the second fastest time ever for an ESF freshman on a 6k course. The Mighty Oaks placed 10th out of 15 schools. The host Geneseo Knghts finished first.

The next race for the women's team is Oct. 7 at Hamilton College.
