Men's basketball falls to Alfred University

The Mighty Oaks men's basketball team fell to the Alfred University Saxons, 95-57.

The Saxons came out strong and fast opening up with a quick lead at 24-7 within the first eight minutes. The Mighty Oaks orchestrated a run of its own with some strong half court defense, cutting the lead down to five with six minutes remaining in the first half at 36-31 with both teams exchanging baskets and Alfred leading at the half 39-51.

The second half was all Alfred as the Saxons ramped up its defense causing multiple Mighty Oaks' turnovers and limiting the Mighty Oaks to only 25 percent shooting in the second half as the Oaks also struggled from the charity strip going 22-38 for the game as all Mighty Oaks saw action in the closing minutes.

Junior Sage Beemer lead the Mighty Oaks with 14 points.

The men's basketball team is back in action on the road Nov. 18 versus Marywood University in Scranton, Pa.
