Mighty Oaks Basketball Team Go 1-3 in the First Week of 2020

The Mighty Oaks men's basketball team was back in action in 2020 with a packed week — four games in six nights.

The men opened up play versus Houghton College of the Empire 8 conference. ESF fell 83-61 to the Highlanders. Juniors Henry Pflaumer and Cole Paradies had 16 points each for ESF.

In the next three games, ESF faced junior-college opponents. ESF rebounded from the Houghton loss with a 90-78 win over Broome Community College. Next the Mighty Oaks faced Jefferson Community College where they came away with an 84-72 loss. In the final game of the week, ESF squared off against crosstown rival Onondaga Community College. Despite a close and well-played first half, ESF fell to the Lazers 79-53. Sophomore Logan Ameele scored 16 points in the losing effort. Paradies also added 16 points along with 10 rebounds.

ESF's record for the season now stands at 6-6. The Mighty Oaks have a much-needed week off and return to action Jan. 18 vs HVIAC rival Five Towns College.
