Men's Golf Season Recap

Men's Golf Season Recap

(Recap provided by head coach John Turbeville)

The ESF golf team had a strong fall 2019 season.

The team competed in six events, three of which were two-day tournaments. The team made their 10th consecutive trip to the USCAA national championships, held again this year at the Penn State Blue Course in State College PA.
  • This year's event was shorted to one day due to unplayable conditions on day one.
  • Andrew Crossway was named to the Academic All American team.
  • Low score from the ESF squad was turned in by Senior, Billy Sullivan with an 82.
Billy also took home this year's ESF players Championship Title with a fine 79.

The team had the privilege to finish their season in a two day event at Shenandoah Golf Course at Turning Stone. Rated as some of the top and most difficult courses in the country, the ESF squad rose to the challenge finishing 3rd, one-stroke out of second and three out of first.
Colin Sabitus had a career event placing second overall with a two day total of 158, which included a 77 on day two.
While not a season filled with wins, this team experienced many personal bests and as always showcased themselves and ESF as the top institution that it is!

These young men will be sorely missed.

Most Valuable Player
This year's most valuable player's race required a calculator to confirm as it was that close. With a scoring average of 83.7, propelled by a final round 77, this year's golf MVP goes to graduating Senior– Colin Sabitus.
