Men's Soccer Tops Vaughn in OT

A few hours after the Mighty Oaks Invitational, the men's soccer team took to the Tully Field pitch to face off against conference rival Vaughn College. The Mighty Oaks came away with a hard-fought 3-2 overtime win against the Warriors.

Freshman Aaron Flint got the Mighty Oaks on the board early, notching in a goal at the 34-minute mark of the first half. This was Flint's first career goal. ESF led 1-0 at half time. Vaughn College equalized the score with a goal at the 74-minute mark of the second half. ESF went ahead 2-1 with a goal by junior Ian Foote at the 85th minute. Vaughn College would respond immediately tying up the game with a goal one minute later to send the game into overtime. Sophomore Jack Phillips capitalized on a penalty kick goal one minute into sudden death overtime to give ESF the 3-2 win.

With the win, ESF improves to 5-3-2 overall and secures a spot in the HVIAC conference tournament Oct. 26-27.
