Mighty Oaks Track Team Races at Brockport
The Mighty Oaks men's and women's track team took the field at the Brockport Golden Eagle Invitational. The invitational featured over 15 SUNY and other division III schools. The men's team finished tenth overall out of 17 schools. The women's team finished 15th out 16 schools.
For the women, freshman Cassidy Engleson finished 13th overall out of 31 runners in the mile race with a time of 5:42 while freshman Aine Haugh finished middle of the pack in the 800 meter run placing 26th out of 45 runners and a time of 2:38.
For the men, senior Howard "Buck" Haines finished fourth overall out of 15 runners in the 600 meter dash with a time of 1:27. Freshman Matt Tripp place 11th overall in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:03. Senior Sam Schneider had a strong showing in the mile race, finishing 14th overall out of close to 50 runners and time of 4:41.
The track team is back in action Mar. 28 at Geneseo.
