The Mighty Oaks take on The TRACK at New Balance

The ESF Men's and Women's competed at the Black Sheep Invite hosted by Hampshire College. The event took place at The TRACK at New Balance in Boston, MA. This brand new facility has been "tabbed" as the fastest indoor banked track in the world.

The standout performances for the Mighty Oaks included:

Savannah Kuhr - 2nd place in the women's 800m with a time of 2:27.16 (SCHOOL RECORD)

Aubrianna Delario-Brown - 4th place in the women's 400m with a time of 1:05.05

Sean Dristle - 3rd place in the men's 3000m with a time of 8:52.38 (SCHOOL RECORD)

Korben Anderson - 4th place in the men's 800m with a time of 2:02.19

Matthew Tripp - 6th place in the men's mile with a time of 4:27.17

Coach Melfi's Comments:

"The minute we stepped foot in this facility, it was surreal. To give some of our track student athletes the opportunity to race at the TRACK was really special."

"We had some high level performances as well. Savannah Kuhr got her 2nd school record this season, and is shaping up to be one of our top mid distance runners ever. This is her first real season of running in college so we are super excited about her future."

"Sean Dristle took down one of the oldest distance school records on the books (3k) by almost 20 seconds. The previous record was set in 2014 by Timmy Callahan (9:10.81). Sean has worked really hard and smart the minute he came on campus 2.5 years ago. He listens to exactly what the coaches ask him to do.  This record he got was well deserved. He had a great indoor season!"

"We will use the next month and a half to prep for outdoor track that will start in early April. I am excited about what we can do in the spring!"
