Track Team Collaborates with Local College

On November 21st, the Mighty Oak men's and women's track team had a scrimmage meet against Onondaga Community College (OCC). The meet was held on their campus at The SRC Arena. Following the scrimmage both teams enjoyed a post meet workout, and finally some post running fuel, pizza!

The Mighty Oaks also reunited with recent program alum, 2020 SUNY ESF graduate Sean Satchwell who will soon be elevated from assistant track coach (at OCC) to the top spot. Current OCC head track coach, Alex Devine recently took the top track position at SUNY Delhi. Satchwell will serve as interim head track coach. 

"We always try to keep in touch with our ESFRUNS alumni. In fact, our assistant coach Hannah Anthes will be hosting an ESF XC/track alumni event at her house before Thanksgiving! To see Sean (Satchwell) elevate to a head college coach this early in his career is no shock! He was great when we coached him!" Head track coach Mike Melfi said. 

The Mighty Oak track teams return to action at the Utica Holiday Classic on December 7th, held on the campus of Utica University.
