Canisius Alumni Classic

The men and women xc teams traveled to Delaware Park in Buffalo, NY to compete in the Canisius College Alumni Classic. Senior McKenzie Dombroski placed 33rd out of 156 participants setting personal record and the 5th best 5k in school history (19:35.7). The lady Mighty Oaks placed 10th out of 15 schools in a field that mainly featured NCAA Division 1 and 2 schools.

Senior Matthew Tripp placed 20th out of 170 participants that again featured many NCAA division 1 and 2 runners. Tripp's time of 25:56 is the 3rd time he's dipped under 26 minutes for an 8k during his spectacular ESF running career. Overall, Tripp led the men Mighty Oaks to a 7th place finish out of 13 teams.

Coach Melfi's Comments:

We came home with a lot of huge personal records even though the weather in Buffalo was not pleasant prior and during race time. I would like to thank Canisius College and coach Nate Huckle for being very hospitable to our team. We look forward to competing at Hamilton College on Saturday (10/22) where the ladies distance will be 4k and guy 5k. This will be a perfect tune up for us as we prepare for the USCAA Nationals on November 11th.
