ESF Cross Country Women win the Frank Dillon Invite

The men's and women's cross country team traveled up the street to newly NCAA Division 1, LeMoyne College.

The women came away on top beating Daemon, LeMoyne, Oswego State, SUNY Delhi and Morrisville State. The Mighty Oak's had 3 runners in the top 10, by Savannah Kuhr, Bryce Hopper and Tee Atwater. The men placed 3rd with senior captain, Sean Dristle leading the way. Despite being led off the course (late in the race), he will was able to finish 2nd overall to lead  ESF. This was the first time in Coach Melfi's tenure, the Mighty Oaks did not win the men's division at this race.

Coach Melfi's comments:

I am obviously very happy to get the overall team win on the women's side. The Daemon women qualified for the NCAA Division 2 national meet last year as a team. They are very well coached and a great team. Our women are strong up front and we have depth. However, we are also very young as we brought in 12 new ladies. We have big goals for them this season! On the men's side, we had too large of a gap between our top 7 men. We have some hungry first years that have already set goals to close those gaps. We also had a few that did not race on Saturday who would have placed in our top 7. They will be ready to go in a few weeks.
