Bio

Coach John Turbeville has served as the SUNY-ESF Golf coach since the teams inception in the spring of 2007. He has assisted the Mighty Oaks to multiple victories and coached the 2010 squad which posted the lowest team score (316) on the second day of the USCAA national Championships. He also coached the 2010 USCAA All-American (Brendan Beeke) and 2018 USCAA Individual National Champion (Sean Barron).

Prior to joining the Mighty Oaks coaching staff, he taught private lessons to both youth and adults, and competed at the collegiate level while he was an undergraduate. Coach Turbeville is the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs and Director of Career Services at ESF. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from SUNY Oswego, a Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration from Syracuse University and recently earned his Doctorate from the Maxwell School at Syracuse.
