Track & Field Wrap Up Utica Blue & Orange Invitational

On January 27th, the men and women's  indoor track team competed at Utica University. They left with 2 first place finishes, a school record and many personal bests. Senior Sean Dristle, set a new school record in the men's mile. Dristle's time of 4:25.27, takes down graduate Matthew Tripp's 4:26.75 set 1 year ago.  About 2 hours later,

Dristle was the final leg (1600 m) of the men's DMR (relay) coming from behind to pass Vassar College for the photo finish win.  Junior Korben Anderson won the men's 800 in 2:01.

Senior captain Aubrianna Delario-Brown finished 8th in the women's 400 with a time of 63.6.  The 400 meter school record holder also led the women's DMR relay to a third place finish.  After the meet, Dalario-Brown said:  "The meet went very well! We had a couple of awesome performances with our relay winning the DMR and Korben winning the 800m. We also had several people qualify for our nationals meet which is a goal we've been working towards largely over break and the past weeks leading up to this meet, so that was exciting."

Coach Melfi's comments:

This was our first meet back after break. The team obviously did their work over break. I was able to monitor their training and they communicated well. We will continue to build off of this through the rest of indoor season and outdoors.
